This is a classic from the archive, at the end of DJ 279s Flava of the Month, TY and Kosher (Bloodhounds/Baskerville) jump on stage for a completely unrehearsed freestyle. Youngbloods take note, this was an awesome 5 minutes.
Slum village performs at Scala in London on June 1st, 2000. It was the 4th Birthday of ‘Scratch’, which had become quite the Thursday night event. Jay Dee wasn’t there that night, but it was really cool, and really loud. ‘Raise it up’ had just come out and these dudes really killed it.
Really nice session from the Red Bull Music Academy with Rakim, arguably the best to ever do it.
The final edit of the Trayvon Martin tribute track using Nas/Salaam Remi’s ‘Made You Look’.
Yet another mashup of Fela’s music. This time as an 8-track, 33 minute journey into the world of afrobeat rhythms, funky horn riffs, and classic hip-hop gems.
